Peter Warner's Artwork
Peter Warner is internationally known for his illustrative work with cats and
wildlife, and for the icons and logos he has designed using animal motifs.
Closer to home his work is something of a mystery, unless you happen
to have been to one of his animal drawing or watercolour workshops.
The Artist
Peter Warner studied drawing and painting at Wimbledon School of
Art and the Royal Academy Schools. He has illustrated over fifty
children's and wildlife books, among them five major books on domestic
and wild cats, notably The Book of the Cat and Perfect Cats, of which he
is also the author. He is also an accomplished landscape painter in watercolour.
Current illustration and portraiture
Illustrations for the fourth Moon Cottage book, The Coach House Cats by Marilyn Edwards (see Cats of Moon Cottage), were completed in May 2006. Many of these are from life and will be on display. First hand observation is the only way to absolute integrity of character. If you are thinking of having portraits made of your animal companions do discuss it with him. Many of these are from life. South East Open Studios 2006 Autumn and Christmas Opening
This very successful event allowed visitors to enjoy meeting artists in their working environment. They
were welcome to browse at leisure and discuss materials, techniques and ideas. There was a range of
things to look at and buy, from postcards to finished work, and those looking for something in particular
were able to ask about a commission. Refreshments were supplied and there was no pressure to buy.

Visit South East Open Studios for details of participating artists and dates and times of open days.
