Advertising & Design

Peter Warner is particularly known for the icons and logos he has designed using animal

motifs in particular, and for his illustrative work with cats and wildlife. He has

designed many international advertising icons such as Whiskas and Friskies

cats and Hush Puppies dogs, and has vast experience of animal imagery.

All Peter Warner's work is based on first hand observation of

animal behaviour and movement. Following a brief, drawings are

made from animal models and research informed by an enormous

understanding of animal behaviour. These maquettes give

advertising, design, and corporate clients a series of movement

sketches for discussion and evaluation. See Illustration & Painting.

Selected designs are then developed into more detailed working drawings which become the basis for finished artwork. This process allows the greatest exploration of the brief, and ultimately the most imaginative solution, because the process is underpinned by specialist knowledge of animal behaviour. Whether the painting becomes tightly finished or is rendered in looser style, or digitally, original research and drawing skills are the cornerstones.
